Founded by Kate Howe and Sally Minns, the studio offers a non-hierarchical, supportive environment where artists at all stages of their careers can push creative boundaries, engage in deep artistic inquiry, and develop sustainable practices.
Kate HowE Mentoring and Coaching
Through mentoring and coaching, Kate Howe helps people work out the useful edge between what they know and what they don’t. Usually there is something in there that can be acted on, tested, changed, or, in the best case, stopped from taking up so much space.
Kate came to coaching through a curious combination of things rather than through one straight professional route. They were an elite athlete and mountaineer, so risk, pressure, logistics and making decisions with incomplete information are very familiar to them. They’ve also run businesses and projects where the practical problem is often the thing standing between an idea and whether it can exist at all. They are now a full-time artist, a PhD researcher and Max Planck scholar, so they spend a lot of time thinking about what happens when there isn’t an obvious answer, and how not to kill a good question by trying to solve it too quickly.
For people in the C-suite, that can mean getting out from under the sheer amount of noise and seeing what actually needs their attention. For artists, it is often about getting back to the work itself instead of constantly watching and judging themselves while they make it. And for anyone who is simply carrying too much, it can help to work out what is really theirs to carry and what they can just put down and walk away from.
The Other Art Room with sally minns
The Other Art Room is run by Sally Minns, a qualified teacher and practicing artist based in London. It is born out of the belief that everyone can be creative and that art is for all. Often barriers of judgement are placed in our way before we have chance to develop and practice our skills and Sally is dedicated to sharing her skills and knowledge across all age and ability groups, to develop confidence in drawing, painting and making. With a freedom away from prescribed curriculums and rules, she encourages everyone to connect with art, take risks, have fun and be part of an artistic community.
The Other Art Room offers a unique set of workshops, across sketchbook practice, drawing, and acrylic and oil painting. All workshops are taught in person, and students are offered bespoke tutoring from their individual starting points within group settings, in a supportive and encouraging environment.

These creative writing workshop with poet and author Anna Brook, combine inspiring readings with short, guided exercises, carving out time to nurture creativity. Suitable for adults at all levels, whether you’re new to creative writing, or you’re looking to re-invigorate your practice. All you'll need is a pen/pencil and notepad (or the notes app on your phone!)
